Ok...her new song, "Whiteflag"...is a good song. I don't think it's her best or anything. However, you'd think the radio stations around here didn't have anything else to play...I'm getting sick of it already! I had planned on getting her new album when it comes out, but I'm scared that I'm going to be so sick of hearing that song by the time it does that I won't even be interested! Why do radio stations do this?

I know, I don't like it when they over-play a good song...Uhhhg. I haven't heard the Dido one yet, though. My station is too busy playing Sarah's Fallen. LOL

Hmm... I haven't heard her new song, unfortunately. The radio station I listen to doesn't play her music (I need rock to get me through the working day!).. But I'm sure my Dad will be buying her new album when it comes out (when does it come out? I dunno). Overplaying of a good new song annoys me too. The station I listen to has this "no repeat workday" thing where they don't play the same song twice between 9am-5pm, but the thing is, they play the SAME songs as the day before.. and the day before that.. and so on. Pisses me off. Most radio stations will do that though

I absolutely hate when stations do that. That happens all the time. I've heard that song while at work and I like it a lot. It isn't played on the stations that I usually listen to, so I haven't heard it too much yet.

That's one of the reasons I don't listen to the radio anymore. This channel I liked would do like "OK, we're playing requests now" kinda stuff, and I don't believe people requested the same crap all the time they play otherwise too. It was always like, J-Lo, Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera on repeat... Almost all of our channels are TOP 40 kind. Even if they play something rocky you can be sure they style will change within a few minutes. All the actual rock-shows are during like 10pm to 12pm or something....
One of the reasons for missing Seattle again: they had a classical channel. We don't. So it was nice to drive in a car and just have that channel on if there was crappy music on on the other channels.

At least I have a couple radio stations here that DO NOT PLAY ANY Britney/Christina/J-Lo/Jessica Simpson. They are all-alternative. (Thank you KROQ and StAR!) And we have a great Classical station, too. I mostly listen to cds in the car, but at home we have the music channels through our DirecTv system and I get like 50 music channels....several rock, alternative, kids music, a Light Classical, and a Classical Masterpieces channel. It's my favorite reason to have a TV, really....to get the music thru it, b/c I switch it so the sound comes thru the speaker system all over the house (upstairs and downstairs). It's great! Mandy, I'm SOOOOO excited for Dave's solo album!
