When I was young in the eighties all the mainstream music was crap (don’t mention YKTR) however there was Savage Rose a Danish underground band that released their first two records “The savage rose” and “In the plain” in the wild year of –68. They toured all over the world that wonderful year. Now 35 years later they are still very active, records as well as live. Annisette the band’s singer has a voice with incredible range and power and the composer Thomas Koppel a classical piano prodigy once, have written practically all kind’s of music. Wild rock r&b bluesy tunes gospel Jazz ballads classical stuff and bittersweet ballet music like “Dødens triumph”-70-72 (triumph of death). Lyrics in the early years by Anders koppel (also the band’s organist) that reach the heart through Annisette’s emotional voice. If you check out the site www.savagerose.com and click the “works” followed by albums you can listen to some songs check the mentioned ones. Checked kazaa some weeks ago I didn’t found that much the short time I was connected, but the explosive “wild child”-73 is a must download it!

WOOHOO!!! Somebody else knows Savage Rose!!! ;D ;D ;D Men självklart måsta det ju då våra en svensk But seriously - listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about!!! Savage Rose rock! Particularly, as you said, "Wild Child", but also on an almost equal level songs such as "Den Sorte Engel" [Black Angel], "Min Lille Sol" [My Little Sun], "Sangen for Livet" [The Song for Life], the theme from Dødens Triumf [Triumph of Death], Evening's Child, Lille Soldat [Little Soldier], and... well, I could go on... It's true, however, that you don't get much of their stuff from places like KaZaA... I think the only stuff I have by them here in China is on MD, so I can't even offer to send mp3 samples... But find it if you can!!!

Yeah! I can’t do without those Danish language songs you mentioned either. Like “Den sorte engel” with lyrics by Annisette also in an English version (Black angel). But I had some problems to get it Danish are worse than English for a Northern lad, but jävlar what a power in her voice and the bankkende “burning heart within.” And then “You’ll be alright”on “The savage rose” when the strings come in and “Ticket to paradise” from “Babylon” could keep on rambling…. If anyone gonna buy be careful with the first eight records that is to be found on some internet retailers (don’t know shit how it is on Amazon) if the re-release date is around –91, I don’t think they are properly re-mastered. Should be a later re-release date I think not sure, the shop on their site is an option I guess. Finally Happy Santa! the short hours of sun make me sleeeeepy. And do I whish I lived closer to Denmark so I could buy booze without getting robbed and see Savage Rose live.
