I don’t own any Björk album but I’ve heard some I say "Homogenic" that’s the one I remember although I’m a drunk. Björk that’s a fucking good choose and then P J Harvey “To bring you my love” she’s a fucking fire woman, and then you have the three who counts check that interview from –94 Q mag, in case you haven’t read it: www.stuff.to/include.php?include=/taart/Q_0594.txt

LOL! this part cracked me up so much...
"TORI: I was in love with this boy when I was five years old and I knew we could really make it work. I was trying to convince him and he took this hammer and hit me with it really hard and, you're going to really hate me for this, but I was so stupid, I tried to get my dad, the minister, to invite them over because I wanted to see him and conquer his heart. I was going to give him bubble-gum and then he'd let me into his treehouse to play with his toy machine-guns. I just wanted to be with him so bad.
Q: did it work out?
TORI: No, never. He called me a nerd."
Hahahaha... so cute.

And Tori well she have a thing with words that’s a gift of course…<br> Three hours left now happy new year. A drink a day keeps the shrink away

Actually it’s 2004 here now and I have a bottle to crack, just wanted to add to this bubble gum stuff, started to think of the lyrics to “Sugar” “cold war bubble gum trade” and the hammer hit, a memory worthy the other Raven.

So if she sang different lyrics I didn't notice Oh well.

Well I’m not gonna steal the thread-subject from scarletsgodess, the question which album to start with? Is the one I ask my self a lot. However “Rid of me” It’s a very defiant song and Polly used to play It solo on a red Gibson with loads of energy during summer tour of –01 at the end of the song she screams “lick my legs I’m on fire!” high as hell. (The Jesus stuff was just my silly exclamation mark, I stole it from a Neil Gaiman book sorry…) I have all the albums but that’s the only time I’ve seen her live. Some Polly stuff at: www.pjharvey.net/homeflash.html Or: www.jphuntley.co.uk/pjh/diynavigationframe.htm I have only checked this Forum in a hasty manner yet would surprise me if there isn’t a PJ thread but o well…you know I’m “Dazed and confused” particularly on New years eve.

I have "Homogenic," "Vespertine," and the greatest hits one. I always think that greatest hit albums are a good place to start, and then you can get an idea of what era of Bjork's you like the best. Overall, I like "Homogenic" the best, but "Vespertine" has "Pagan Poetry" and "Unison", which I believe to be two of her most beautiful songs!

Oh yeah, I know the song "Rid Of Me" very well now, I just didn't at the time I saw her live which was about a year ago. I have all her albums except for Dry and 4 Track Demos, which I am currently keeping an eye out for in local stores... if I don't find them soon I'll probably just buy them online though. Actually, you know what.. I don't think there has been a thread started up in this forum about PJ Harvey! Oooh, that's terrible... hehehe. Oh well. Sorry scarletsgoddess for hijacking your Bjork thread

If I was a new fan of Bjork now I'd start off with her Sugarcubes stuff then go on to each solo album in order of release. One of my favourite Bjork songs is "Human Behaviour". Roxy641

i'd definetely start with 'Debut'. 'Vespertine' is much better, but starting with it right away might come as a shock, you need to listen to her music progressively, 'Debut' is her most poppish record, and yet it gives you an idea of what's to come. work your way chronologically, it's best.
