Britney Spears, the pop princess, 22, has gotten married -- at a little Vegas chapel, wearing a baseball cap, to a childhood friend, sources close to the singer say.

That is ridiculous. Sounds like a publicity stunt.
The article says that it was a joke of some sort and she is already having the marriage anulled.
After reading it, it seems to me that she did it for the novelty of it, so that she could say that she had a Vegas wedding.

I don't know which makes me more angry/depressed, the fact that someone thinks marriage is so trivial that they can enter it on a whim or the fact that the State thinks it's so trivial they allow someone to get out of it so easily.

Trevor, I hear you and I think it's called Las Vegas. It's also why I have a hard time picturing myself getting married because everyday it means just that little bit less to me. I blame Britney and hell of a lot of other people.
