I love 'Faith'!!!!  That's the song of hers I know best b/c my 'progressive music channel' plays it a lot. I remember the first time I heard it I thought she sounded a bit like Chrissy Hynde and Sarah Harmer and Aimee Mann all rolled into one! I've been meaning to give a better listen to the Wake album, but I do remember liking what I sampled. I think it was Brief Bus Stop that I was sampling several months ago when I first got into Charlotte Martin (do you know/like her, too?!) b/c Sheila was listed as a "similar-sounding artist" to Charlotte, so I checked out a little bit of her stuff.... and I can definitely hear the similarities in the more piano-focused songs. Glad you give her such high praise, seeing as how we seem to like a lot of the same artists/music! PS- I remember Matt Chamberlain being listed as a musician on one of her albums.... |
