We've listened to a couple songs by Laurie Anderson in my "Music as Discourse" class and I am completely captivated by her! Is there anyone here who is familiar with her work? Her music is incredibly unique and it sometimes reminds me of Kate Bush's (Laurie's career started before Kate's). I can't wait until I can get a hold of a Laurie Anderson album! The two songs I've heard (Slip Away and O Superman) blew me away.

....and I just heard a clip of O Superman... it sounds familiar, but I need to hear more of it.
Also, I totally remember the song 'In Our Sleep' b/c Lou Reed (her once -boyfriend, I'm finding out, lol) sang on it. (that's on the 'Bright Red' album).
Ok, cool!
Yeah, she's really interesting. Reminds me a lot of Peter Gabriel, actually
