Now I know that most of you do not need to be told who Maynard James Keenan is, but it's been brought to my attention that one of our members (at least, anyway) doesn't know - and he was good enough to just ask, so here is his explanation.... Ok so you ever heard of the band Tool? Maynard = lead singer of that band. Ever heard of the band A Perfect Circle? Maynard = lead singer of that band too (yes, very busy boy, I know..) Well, basically those are the two biggest Maynardy things... He's also been in an episode of that Bikini Bandits series, where he played Satan.. but that's probably not as out there for public consumption lol. Well no, it's not like he would've woken up one day and said "I know, I'll shave my head and paint myself blue.." He already had a shaved head, it was just the way he wore his hair (scalp?). And, he just liked to wear body paint. It wasn't always blue... sometimes it'd be red, or yellow or whatever. Examples:   These days he's still a head shaver but seems to like leather suits and stuff (well, two years in a row I saw him wearing that outfit in concert). And of course, the long wigs for APC gigs.. Always been very interesting in the style department. *wishes some other Maynard fans would show up* |

Love the music, just can't figure out where he's going next *THEY ARE WORKING ON NEW MATERIAL RIGHT NOW!  They're doing it how they did Lateralus, in the sense that the band pulls together music, etc.. and sends it to Maynard while he's on tour with APC where he can add lyrics, amendments, etc.. and they correspond like this. So there IS a new album coming, from what I've heard. |

Ditto on what Mallory said. And Sean: I don't think the other guys from Tool get pissed off? They have their other things going on I guess. I think Billy Howerdel was feeling a bit ants-in-his-pants during the last Tool tour, working on music and having no vocalist to work with for a while but he knew what he was getting into I guess. Both bands obviously go a long time between albums but I think it's worth the wait since their albums are always fantastic. (A bit like that little bastard Reznor... only, he makes everyone wait coz he hates us  ). |
