ok - finally. i have so many new cd's, i hardly get to listen to all of them. but that's a great feeling. anyhow, "the soul session" is on its way to make it to the top 20 of my favourite albums of all times. i love everything about it. my personal top 5 looks like this: 5 - all the king's horses 4 - i've fallen in love with you 3 - fell in love with a boy (i must admit i've never heard the original white stripes song, but i'm sure there is no better version than joss's, haha. i was walking around with my best friend stephi the other day, and we couldn't stop singing that song ) 2 - super duper love 1 - the chokin' kind

She's superb! I've never heard of her before but I've sure heard her loads of times... listening to radio, one doesn't necessarily pay enought attention I see... I don't care if they're her own songs or not, she does a great job with them... and what comes to white stripes, you can't even tell that's the same song... their style is so different that they're uncomparable, simply wonderful... oh boy... more music to listen...

Oh! "Fell in love with a girl" is such a fine song from one of the most wonderful bands on this planet! How could this little bitch ruin it with her "Oh, my voice is so grown up" wannabe RnB sound?

Oh! "Fell in love with a girl" is such a fine song from one of the most wonderful bands on this planet! How could this little bitch ruin it with her "Oh, my voice is so grown up" wannabe RnB sound? I don't think she ruined the song, but that's a matter of personal opinion - however, I certainly don't think she's a little bitch... Whether or not you like the song is up to your personal tastes, I happen to really like the original but her version is so completely different that it's almost an entirely new song. I think that's why I like it so much, the first time I heard it I could hardly believe what I was hearing. She (along with her producers) completely retooled the original version and basically just lifted a few things from it onto an entirely new musical template. If you don't like that... then you don't like it, and I won't blame you. I love it, though

It's not only that song. I heard the album cause a friend of mine owns it and everyone declares it as the new sensational Blues and Soul artist. But Blues and Soul Sessions for me are something improvised. But that album sounds so well prepared, arranged and flawless. That just can't be real sessions. And she wants to prove all the time what a great range her voice by singing one note up and down but with doing that she's nothing better than Mariah Carey. That is annoying.
For me it's the same with Norah Jones which just isn't real Jazz Music.

It's not improv'd much (though she does go off a bit on a song or two), and it's very arranged. I guess I just like her for her deep soulful voice... the first time I heard her I thought I was listening to a middle-age black woman, I swear! As always, though, to each his/her own After all, someone has to like even Bitmey Smears!

1. her voice is amazing. especially for a 17-year-old (?). i can only begin to imagine what that woman's gonna sound like when her voice is fully developed. 2. who's to tell something is improvised and something isn't? what i mean to say is that they might have improvised, you as a listener probably just don't recognize it as improvisation. after all, this is not a live album or something. 3. hi axel, nice to see you around. 84 more sleeps!

Awesome!!! Yeah, I'm definitely in love with her second album. I don't have the first, but I might have to go get it. I agree, her voice is amazing. I'm in love with Limp[/b] and Get Gone[/b] the most, though, because they're so full of boy-hating-goodness ;D

I watched the video on MTV and it really caught me. Actually I don't know why there's a video for it since it was never released as a single. But still great tho.
