I doubt any of you have even heard of them, but who knows, could be. If you haven't well...
1) They're a Christian band.
2) I only have one of their CDs, so maybe the rest of their stuff is crap but I love the one I have.
3) The one I have is called Underdog and it mostly deals with issues surrounding how we live our lives in front of God, and how we need to be humble and appreciate what we have instead of wanting more, stuff like that. It's about how God is tilted in power towards the underdogs... the people who don't have that much.
4) Their music itself is... um, I don't know, it's pretty normal-sounding. Kinda punky, but not overly so. I can't think of any bands that sound like them, but they DON'T sound like Creed so that can't be a bad thing They rock out when they need to, they do calm pretty songs, but mostly their music is medium-to-fast paced alternativish acousticish stuff. And it's good. But their style varies... one of the songs on the record is a swing song, so yeah. Hehe.
And...
5) I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys good music by five normal guys who just want to write what's in their heart. It would help if you are Christian but I was a lot less strong in my faith when I first heard them and I still loved them totally. So you don't have to be to appreciate their rockin' style. I'm thinking Mandy and Mary in particular, but those are just the two people they most make me think of.
So... everyone go out and listen to some of the tracks off of Underdog in your local store or something... if you can find their CD... I recommend them fully. Their music has quite literally made a difference in my life. If I had to choose five CDs that have changed my life most, Underdog would be one of them. Of course, so would A Perfect Circle's Thirteenth Step... ha. But anyway...
GO LISTEN TO AUDIO ADRENALINE!!!!
P.S. Oh, if you want specific tracks... our tastes all vary but I think my favorites are It Is Well With My Soul[/b] (featuring Jennifer Knapp, Mary!) which I believe is a remake of a hymn or something? And also Get Down[/b], which is completely inspiring. Oh, and DC-10[/b] is a swingish song if you like that (which I do), and The Houseplant Song[/b] is both hilarious and inspiring.
If you already know who they are... COMMENT ON THIS THREAD!!!!
