Um.... um.... mmmm  . I just really don't want us to get nailed for putting up unauthorized files here. Don't get me wrong, it's great that you are sharing the Kate video love, but I don't think it's a good idea to do it publicly.... It's one thing to post links to public places that are authorized to show the videos for free (like yahoolaunch, for example) but putting up links to personal files on this public board is putting us at risk. Paulo, do you have an LJ or blog page? Perhaps you could post the links there and just make an occasional announcement here when you have new ones up. That way the toriforum is not directly responsible (you are, lol). Ok?  |

oh, so videos aren't allowed either? hmm... ok, let's do this, then... can you tell me how i can let all of you know the links? i'll keep them here with me and then... i don't know, i don't have a live journal or anything where i could post it... i could PM them to you and then you can post it at your live journal, how's that?

Starting a livejournal is very, very easy. You can start one just for this purpose and then everyone who wants to know about your downloads can add your journal either to their links, feed or Livejournal friends. You can just register at Livejournal (www.livejournal.com) and I think they'll have a template ready for a journal, so you don't even have to start mocking about in order to create one. Then you just start posting  Good call, Mary. Now I just wish that Kate's videos were more easily accessable online--like in yahoo launch or something. :/ |

ok, i gave Mary a lot of headache but i finally figured out a way to get the videos to you... i uploaded them to another forum (note to the powers that be: ToriForum has zilch to do with that) and i'm posting the link to it here so you can download them. by the way, do not browse around that place. offensive people with very, very offensive language around. i love it, feel right at home!

I think the best from her "hey I'm dancing in a studio"-era music videos is Babooshka, now that I think of it. I have no idea what the contrabass has to do with anything, but I like how she dances around it and is being the wife of the song. And then she trasforms into the mysterious lady! Woooeeee. Swords and bikinis, even hotter than Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi  Also, Breathing is one of my favorite songs and the video--although weird--supports the song very nicely. Your opinions, please! ;D People who have seen Them Heavy People-video: does that song sound to you different from the album version? |

yea, it's different. the version she uses in the video is from a live EP she released in 1979 called 'Live @ The Hammersmith Odeon', and it was shot to promote that record instead of her first album. it came out after the Lionheart videos, as a matter of fact.
And if i'm not mistaken in my symbology, the contrabass is supposed to be playing the role of the husband? and i agree with you, Babooshka's the best, definetely.

Well, I figured that much in the video. I just meant that the instrument represents nothing in the actual lyrics (like oooh say the husband would be a musician), so I was wondering why it was chosen to be the hubby. Wonderfully odd.  Awww. I'd really love to have memories of her like that. I think I only heard Wuthering Heights on the radio once when I was around 13 or so and by that time she hadn't been really active anymore. Sometimes when I listen to her or see her videos I wish I was there to experience how it felt like to see this weirdo girl just pop up in the charts with her miming and unconventional singing style. I only got really into her after a good, new friend of mine lent me a tape with mixed odd stuff from Kate (like Coffee Homeground, Leave it Open etc): before that I had only owned The Kick Inside which I thought was good, but I thought I didn't need to invest in her other albums. Geez, how wrong was I. So thank you Friend, who used to dress up as Kate Bush during her teen years by puffing her hair up and wearing a leather jacket over tights. ;D |
