Pay it forward: the Toriforum Collection

This thread is inspired by a couple of things:

Firstly, by a mixed CD I made for Jodi, which contained a lot of songs I've collected from Torumers and beyond. Jodi played the CD to our friend Kate, who instantly loved it, and asked Jodi to burn a copy for her as well, plus another song of Dave Matthews Band she really loved (Crash) and another choice of Jodi's. Jodi called the CD 'Pay It Forward: Helly's Selections'. Needless to say my heart was touched and I wanted to start something similar here.

Secondly, by the number of songs being PMd and posted around here lately. Even Sabsy's birthday thread!

And thirdly, everyone's music tastes around here! #11#

So, how will we work this thing?
Well, I think this thread could be used as a place to post your favourite songs of the moment, using yousendit.com and other servers like Megaupload and Rapidshare.

We can then be free to choose which songs we like from those posted and make personalised Toriforum mixes. As well, we could vote on a definitive playlist. For this one, I thought people could post their favourite local musicians, so that we get a multi-cultural mix.

Anyway, these are just ideas. Please feel free to add/subtract more!

this thread would be really cool, but wouldnt copyright laws be breached if legitimate stuff gets posted?? in which case I only uploaded bootlegged songs.

P.S Thanks for the files, Ben! I think I've heard the first one before - bahaha. Very cute. It reminds me of a performance she of the same song in '94, and it starts raining. She stops after about 1 minute into the song and says, 'So what do we do now?!' and something else I can't remember. Made me giggle

Nooooooo, it's great that you're thinking it because, I have to say, all the music talk lately has been great! It's what makes this forum what it is. I've been thinking about it a lot, too.

And don't be silly. It's not your fault that we have to worry about these sorts of things.

BTW, wanted to thank you for sharing "Passion" with us. It's gone great w/ the whole Lost in Translation thing.

And you can also just say in the thread what you think every ultimate Torum mixed CD should have. Of course, if you post about songs you already have, it makes it easier for for other posters to erm... find the source of your hint ;D

Oh Ben, Rapidshare works differently to YSi, just in case you didn't know:
First, scroll down a bit and click the 'FREE' button (next to the PREMIUM button).
When the screen loads, you'll see that you have to wait 20 seconds or so. Then, you may have to type in an alphanumeric code (only 3 letter/numbers usually), then click the download button. It's easier than it sounds, believe me, but just more faffing around I guess, lol.

I just downloaded Somersault successfully

But Paulo, I think we better stick to the hints and PMs for now. I don't want to get anyone into trouble!
