by Rachael Yamagata has GOT to be one the most brilliantly sad, and touching love songs EVER written....EVER. sigh (but in a healing way)

I would say that about "Quiet", the last song from her album. "It'll be just as quiet when I leave As it was when I first got here."

I get the impression that her new album is coming out pretty soon.
Which is EXCITING. Of all the 'obscure American things that have never made it into Australian shops' that I've been introduced to (by Mary, mostly), I think that Rachael's album is my favourite. So many great songs and not single weak one.

I think it's great she's taken her time on this new album, even though we're all inpatient. I think it means good things. I have a soft spot for Rachael because Paper Doll REALLY hits the nail on the head when it comes to a certain part of my past. It goes hand and hand with Patty Griffin's Florida. There are a lot of songs I identify with in part, but it's rare to find a song that you identify with COMPLETELY. O.K. I'll stop rambling. I'm in a weird mood tonight.
