So my dream came true! I met Tori Amos on December 1st, 2002 around 5:00 pm or so at the meet & greet.
What happened was, my brother, his boyfriend, and I all had tickets to the Milwaukee show in the 27th row. We wanted to go to the meet & greet because we knew she had been doing them. So we went to the back of the building where everyone else was waiting for her. We waited and waited for what was like 45 minutes or so and then they told us that they changed the location of the meet & greet to the front of the building. So we all ran really fast the front of the building. Luckily, my brother, his boyfriend, and I were in front of the gate like before. We waited for what was about an hour or so outside in the freezing cold. There were some dumbasses inside the building setting up the gates, it's really stupid because they were messing with them for like a half an hour, it's not rocket science to set up a gate then they finally let us in which they could've did before so we wouldn't freeze our asses off. Then we waited another half an hour or so and then finally let us into the room where the meet & greet was happening. I am so grateful that we got in the front again, right up against the gate. We waited for about 10 minutes and my brother said, "There she is." I looked and there she was...she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She walked over the the girls next to me and started talking with them. Because I'm a weirdo...I touched her shoulder just to make sure she was there and I was there and this wasn't a dream. She didn't look at me when I did that, but that's okay. She then moved to the next person, and then it was my turn. She looked right into my eyes and said, "Hi." with my melting, squeaky, crying voice I said, "Hi." back to her. I handed her the letter I had written her and then I handed her my limited edition Scarlet's Walk CD for her to sign and she did. She wrote To Julie f Tori Amos. I told her how to spell my name and stuff. Then I looked at her and said, "I love you so much." in my crying voice. Then she said, "Aw." and HUGGED ME! I was like, "Oh God." is this really happening? I was so grateful and lucky. Then she moved onto my brother and he said, "Hi Tori." with a big smile and handed her his limited edition Scarlet's Walk album and then he took off a necklace with a ring on it he had on and gave it to her. He said, "This is very special to me and I want you to have it." she said, "Are you sure?" and he said, "Yes." then she handed it back to him. He request "Carbon" and then she said, "Well, that's only for Madison and Denver." then my brother said, "We're from Madison." and then he said, "Liquid Diamonds" would be great." and she said, "I'll see what I can do." His CD said To Andy f Tori Amos. Then she moved on to Matthew, my brother's boyfriend, he said, "Hi Tori." and then she said hi and signed his limited edition Scarlet's Walk CD. It was an amazing experience for all of us and we will never forget it.
We left after the meet & greet and went to Hooters...the food was good. We met a Tori fan sitting behind us who had met Tori numerous of times and showed us pictures of when he met her. It was very cool.
We went back to the show an hour or so later and sat in our seats. The show as amazing and one of her bests!
