EAGERLY awaiting concert reviews here! You all had such excellent-looking set lists.
C'mon, spill the beans for those of us who have to live vicariously 'cause we're on the wrong part of the planet. Like ANYWHERE south of the Equator...

Here is my review!
Red Rocks, CO 8/7/03
Caitlyn and I arrived early so we could sit in line to get good seats since it was general admission seating, which I love. If you've never been to Red Rocks, go here: www.redrocksonline.com to see pictures. It's one of the most beautiful place I've ever been and it's my favorite concert venue.
While we were waiting, we could hear Tori doing soundcheck. She played a sorta fairytale, Rattlesnakes, Past the Mission, Bliss, Professional Widow, Hotel, and Caught a Lite Sneeze. I called Mary and I wanted to call Carly, but then I got shy.
When we finally got in, we were in the 6th row to the left. I was hoping for center, but we had good seats anyway. It didn't take long for Ben Folds to come out and he played a very impressive set. I loved how he used the piano as a percussion instrument. He played Brick, which was the highlight for me. The girl I was with had an abortion in high school (which is what the song is about) so we held hands and cried a litte. Ben kept having the audience sing along to different songs and it actually sounded really cool. He played Tiny Dancer and did the funniest impression of Elton John I've ever seen.
It was almost dark by the time Tori came out, the kind of dark where the sun is going down and the sky is really dark blue but you can still see clouds. She walked out a tiny ways holding Tash so she could wave to us and then she came out and played a sorta fairytale.
The first thing I noticed was she was wearing the cutest blue strappy shoes and I want them, lol.
And here's the rest of the show:
Bliss ~ Very cool to hear live I've been waiting for this one for a while, so it was nice to finally get it.
Crucify ~ She's played this one at the last two shows I've seen too, but this time was my favorite. At the end she sang the lines "I swear, I have crawled my way back and I am never going back again." and I cried because I'm a big crybaby.
Cornflake Girl ~ Am I the only one who wishes she wouldn't play this one anymore? I like it, but I want something different.
Bells for Her ~ I don't like this one on the album, but it's really beautiful live.
Upside Down ~ My personal highlight. Oh my God, I thought I was going to faint. My friend had to hold my hand while I cried my eyes out. Absolutely phenomenal with the bass and drums.
Hotel ~ Another one I've been hoping for since the first show I went to. I was still crying from Upside Down.
Wednesday ~ Stopped crying, finally.
Band leaves
Cooling ~ I will never get tired of hearing this song live. Luckily, I was all cried out, so I enjoyed this with all my senses intact.
Running to Stand Still (U2 cover) ~ She introduced this one by saying it was supposed to be on the "Strange Little Hamsters" album, but she'd only just worked it out backstage. It was quite a treat to be in the first audience hearing this song.
China ~ Not a personal favorite, but it was pretty.
Band comes back
Past the Mission ~ Too, too cool. This was one of my favs in grade school, so it was awesome to hear it live.
God ~ I always like this one.
Amber Waves ~ Eh. lol
Siren ~ How cool is that? I never would've expected this one to come out.
Professional Widow ~ One of the best songs to hear/see live. She gets so into it.
I Can't See New York ~ Eh, again.
Precious Things ~ Grabbage!
First encore Caught a Lite Sneeze ~ I knew this one was coming because of the soundcheck, but it's always enjoyable.
Rattlesnakes ~ Same as CALS.
Second encore Sweet Sangria ~ I love it! Take to the Sky ~ Such a fun song to end with. Horses ~ I thought of my thirdsies.
Hearing/seeing Tori outside is amazing. The wind was blowing the sage and her hair around and it was just...divine. And the rocks provide the perfect acoustics for this kind of show. After one of the first songs, I don't remember which, she thanked us for helping to say goodnight to her little girl. She was all "She was climbing on the rocks all day and she got a little grumpy." She screwed her face up and said in her "grumpy" voice, "No, Mommy, I don't want you to play the "pinano" today!" Too cute.

Awww, schookims... I was going to call you after I met Tori but I forgot to write down your number before I left for Minneapolis.
He was going to play Brick at my show - then someone yelled out a request and he did that instead. It made me cranky!
No, you're not the only one.
I'm so incredibly glad that you got to hear Upside Down!

Awww, schookims... I was going to call you after I met Tori but I forgot to write down your number before I left for Minneapolis. I'm such a loser! I get shy about the strangest things. And I'm so incredibly glad you got to hear Virginia! We had wonderful shows.

THREE PAGES?! Bloody hell... *Goes off to have dinner first and find a few cushions* LOL, I was incorrect though....I should have said 3 POSTS, not pages. Still, certainly lengthy enough to demand a meal and cushions.
