Summer dates are just starting to be announced.
I just got my e-mail:
TORI'S SUMMER OF SIN
Tori is heading out again this August and September for a nationwide tour. Join her for a "Summer of Sin" with Guests THE DITTY BOPS & IMOGEN HEAP! First shows go on sale this Saturday, with many more dates to be announced along the way:
* Jones Beach Theater, Wantagh, NY – WED AUGUST 17th
* PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel , NJ - FRI AUGUST 19th
Eeeeep!!!!
IMOGEN HEAP!!! I hope that she's doing the whole tour!

Toriamos.com has announced plans for Tori's U.S. tour later this summer! Tori will be touring in the States (not sure if there will be any Canadian dates yet!) in August and September 2005. The name of this leg of the tour is "Summer Of Sin" and will feature Tori solo. Tori's guests during this tour will be The Ditty Bops and Imogen Heap! (Some people think that the shows will feature one of thise opening acts or another, but I think BOTH acts will be opening at most shows...) The web site says, "First shows (Wantagh, NY, and Holmdel, NJ) go on sale this Saturday, May 7, 2005 (at 9:00AM) with many more dates to be announced along the way.
They call these the "first shows", so I guess this could mean the opening shows of the tour, although they could also simply mean the first shows to go onsale. In any case, the shows are:
August 17, 2005 - Wantagh, NY - Jones Beach Theater
August 19, 2005 - Holmdel, NJ - PNC Bank Arts Center

If there are enough people going I'm coming to the NY show... anyone else interested? Kier? Angie? I'd love to hang with you guys and see Ms. Amos once again  I really hope they release more dates before tickets go on sale or I'm going to be pissed off, because a) I need to know which cities she's playing in to decide if I should travel to see her again or not, and I want awesome seats this time (no offense Jana I was happy just being there  so I'd need to either buy them right away or shell out ridiculous dough for ebay tickets. b) I'd guess that if they don't release more dates before those go on sale, people are going to snatch them up all the faster because they won't know if Tori's coming to their city or not. And I do NOT need that. None of us do. |

Things are up in the air about where I will be at that time, but it recently looks like I may be living in NY again (near nyc cause that's where Josh has a decent job prospect). ANYWAY, I plan on buying a ticket on Sat because, even if I end up living near Boston (as origally planned) I will still make the trip! I would love to meet up if you (and whomever else) are going! |

Okay, so who is Imogen Heap and what kind of music do they play? (They must be good if Mary is excited, right?) She is one half of Frou Frou, though she did plenty on her own before that. You may recognize her from the Garden State soundtrack (the song "Let Go" -- probably my favorite song of hers). Frou Frou also had the song "Breathe In" out on the radio. I love her voice! Immi has a new solo album coming out, too! Whoo! LOL a her blog and her flickr account. I wonder if the new album cover will feature something along the lines of that amazing photo of her on the bike. Hope so. You European Toriphiles are lucky to get Tom McRae as an opening act, too. He's great. I saw him live last year while he was on tour with Rachael Yamagata. His cellist is awesome. I was right in front of him at the edge of the stage and stood spellbound for most of the show. This is going to be a fabulous summer tour. ;D |

I actually really like The Ditty Bops... But there's just no $$$ for tickets. Which really makes me upset, because Jones Beach is so close to my in-law's house. We'd usually just stay with them and go...but...yeah.  |

Getting tickets for the summer leg is not off to a good start.
Ticketmaster came up with a ticket for Jones Beach that was
Section C, Row D!!
I was ecstatic...
until I clicked the button to buy it.
It gave me some "internal error" message, and wouldn't let me get back to that page. I lost the ticket.
Then, as I'm trying to search for one again, it gives me a bunch of errors, then tells me that I have a 15min wait.
When it came up with a ticket, it was way back, on the wrong side, with an obstructed view.
Maybe it is just not mean to be for me to go to the NY or NJ shows.
I think I'll wait until the New England ones are released.
I just figured that if I may be moving to NY, I should look for tickets there. I guess not.

I bought Boston tix yesterday! Yay!! I am bringing a friend who has never seen her in concert before. If I were staying in MA, I would go to Wallingford again, too. But I will be in nyc and I don't know if I would be able to make the trip in the middle of the week. I'm still contemplating it, though, because she always puts on a great performance there. And since she'll be solo again, indoors would be a plus for acoustics. Hmm. Well I have a ticket for the Jones Beach show. Maybe sell that one and go to CT? Not sure. I really shouldn't do both because of $$ and because I don't know where I will be working and they may not be too happy with me taking too many days off at once. Anyone from here going to either of those? Keep me posted, I would love to meet up. ;D |
