Here is the email I just received with info about the bootleg series: After years of paying top dollar for low quality bootlegs, Tori Amos diehards now have an alternative. Six live bootleg recordings are set to be released this fall. The first two releases are scheduled for an August 30th release, with four more due this fall. All six discs will be available exclusively at www.toribootlegs.com. Each bootleg is a double-disc package brimming with live rarities, fan favorites and stunning cover versions. Each set was recorded live during her "Original Sinsuality Tour". The first album features songs captured during Tori's April 15th, 2005 concert at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. Among the set's many highlights are live, soul-baring renditions of 1992's "Mother" the title track of new album The Beekeeper and 1996's "Father Lucifer," as well as poignant covers of Jim Croce's 1971 hit "Operator" and Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game." The second album, recorded April 25th, 2005 at Royce Hall Auditorium in Los Angeles, features intimate versions of 1994's "Cloud On My Tongue" and "Yes, Anastacia," as well as covers of Bon Jovi's 1986 No. 1 hit "Livin' On A Prayer" and Jules Shear's "All Through The Night." SPECIAL OFFER! Order both Tori Amos double-CD Bootlegs - Auditorium Theatre Chicago, IL and Royce Hall Auditorium Los Angeles, CA - for $25! ORDER BOTH NOW AT TORIBOOTLEGS.COMBoth bootlegs will be available beginning August 30. If you place your order by Wednesday, August 24, your order will be shipped to arrive on or around August 30. TORI'S SUMMER OF SIN TOUR KICKS OFF TODAY!!! The shows will feature Tori performing solo as she showcases songs from The Beekeeper, as well as compositions from her seven previous studio albums. The pop-rock duo the Ditty Bops along with LA based trio The Like will join Tori on the road.

WHAT?! Why is this place not jumping with people discussing this?!
I found out from elsewhere and honestly thought it must be a hoax at first. Then I went to the official site and, sure enough, it was in the News section.
I was thrilled, of course, but a microsecond later I started thinking about whether she's going to choose to release the concerts I want. Chicago was supposedly a good one, so yay for that.
Mary is going to be over the MOON that Los Angeles is coming out, and I'm thrilled for her, but at the same time I'm a bit sad because that almost certainly means my Sydney concert won't come out - it had a very similar setlist, and maybe we'll only get American concerts.
And I've heard LA and I liked Sydney better for the most part! Heck, she might have liked those LA covers but nothing is going to beat You Shook Me All Night Long, or 'our' version of Jamaica Inn.

AHHHHH CHICAGO!!! This just makes me even sadder that I'm not seeing her in the late summer/fall, though... Carly, why does Tori suddenly hate Minneapolis?

I ordered both. Which was perhaps kinda stupid coz I probably won't be able to end up getting all 6, but oh well. I have my fingers AND toes crossed an Australian one is released.... if so I think it should be the opening night in Sydney! (though I think you're probably right Trevor... and I also think they'll probably only release american shows too )

This is great news! I think I read somewhere else online a little while ago that her manager was saying they have truckloads of live recordings Now all I need is truckloads of bucks! I did think of Mary, too, and then I got jealous and wanted AC/DC, haha! We'll see, guys! It'd be near priceless to hear her talk about the gorilla bottom again, as well as "Renee Zel-who-the-fuck?!" during TPOOK

I got the e-mail about it and I couldn't believe it!!
While hanging out before a couple of the concerts during the first US leg of this tour, I had discussed the prospect of this with some fellow concert-goers and we figured it wouldn't happen!
Now I really need a new job cause I need some $$$ for these!!!

I don't think they seem short. Usually the live version of a song is a bit longer than the studio version. They could probably fit 15 or 16 songs on the first disc, but that would leave 2 or 3 songs to be put on the second disc. It makes sense to have 9 and 9.

|
Post by orfeo on Aug 12, 2005 18:59:13 GMT -5
You're looking at about 55-60 minutes each disk, so they're not short.
I'm busy thinking of which concerts I want to be released, now! You see, I've suddenly got a massive concert obsession (what with having finally BEEN to one, still haven't come down from cloud nine here) and I've downloaded, um... I think it's eight concerts from the current tour (plus some older ones)!
I'm really hoping she releases some of the German or Italian concerts. If she releases the one from Modena, Italy then I'm first in line - and she might because she spends half the concert saying how much she loves it and doesn't want to leave.

*leaps the waxing gibbous* Yeah, so I'll be breaking my Make Poverty History goal/pledge for this. And it's doubly bad because I'll be contributing to my own poorness. LOL [Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't gotten around to all the 'fun' forums yet.. still trying to catch up with the 'to-do' stuff.]

I wish they would just announce what other shows they'll release so I can pick and choose. As long as they aren't offered for a limited time only, though, I think I'm good with my wait-and-see-and-then-decide-which-ones-to-buy strategy.
I'm with Trevor, I'd love to have some of the European shows released.
And you're all right, they're not bootlegs. If they were just shipped cds in a cd case with a small insert of a tracklisting, no pictures or anything... maybe I'd understand calling them that.
I don't think that's Tori's style, though. I'm not expecting a booklet full of new pictures and things, but nothing so barren in the traditional bootleg sense.

Ok, I'm on a bit of a high at the moment cos the iTunes Music Store just came to Australia, and I've been sampling the bootleg goodies all night The Dent says that the next bootlegs likely to come out are from London (night two with the choir) and Boston (from the Summer Of Sin leg). I'm so curious about the choir! I just have to copy/paste something Molly Knight wrote in her journal, since I think this may have had something to do with these two releases, lol: October 21st, 2005
Breaking news: Chelsea Laird looks to MK.com for spiritual (and career-saving) guidance.
(from thedent.com)
The next 2 official Tori boots to be released will likely be from London and Boston! Posted Fri, Oct 21, 2005 - 10:39am ET | Music
The last 2 official Tori Amos bootlegs to be released soon will be the June 4, 2005 show in London, U.K. (which had the choir!) and the August 21, 2005 show in Boston, MA. These boots are currently listed at play.com. I am sure they will soon appear at Toribootlegs.com, which is the official site for these bootlegs.
When I lambasted Amos' management's choice of the abyssmal Denver CO show as one of the six precious bootlegs selected for widespread release I believe I hung a sign from the rafters at Yankee Stadium that said "PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASSES AND PICK BOSTON, SAN DIEGO, OR LONDON #2." (At the very least I noted she was sick that night.) So I guess temporary props(?) are in order for Ms. Laird and her cronies. Thanks for bookmarking us, and check back before it's time to promote Tori's next album! Tee hee! I love Molly
