Just read this at Undented.com: "The edition of Liz Smith’s column published in the, as I understand it, March 9th edition of the Star-Ledger included this little blurb: Fans of singer Tori Amos—emotionally intense cult star deluxe—can expect a new album coming in April, titled “American Doll Posse.” And Tori has a real doll posse working with her on this disc—four well-known female musicians. One is brunette, two are blonde and there’s a redhead too. Amos won’t give out the names, but insists they are “trailblazers, representing the many facets of a woman.”
The erroneous release date for the album aside, this is quite intriguing and the first we’ve heard about potential collaboration on this record. Are these fellow songwriters? Or just session musicians? Or perhaps just a misunderstanding of something Tori said about personas that she is assuming for some of the songs?" I knew it!!! I wonder who the female musicians are that she'll be stepping into. xo

Hmmm very interesting indeed!
I wonder if it's direct duet collaborations, or if these women have lent Tori a helping hand in song writing, etc. Can't wait to find out!

This sounds very SLG, which I like, but again, I don't know if these women have been directly by Tori's side, or if Tori meant this in a more metaphorical way and confused the journalist. I really, really wish a full press release would go up at toriamos.com. It's such big news! I wonder if one of the women is Steve Nicks. Tori's talked about her before, and mentioned something about using similar structures to the Rumours album for SW.

I'm all for Stevie and Bjork but at the same time I like the idea of it being a more metaphorical and SLG thing. I'm not sure which idea excites me more.

or PJ! even better. Yeah, true! Seriously though, I'm kinda hoping it's not a collaboration with real people at all. Not sure I want to hear anyone on there other than Tori (well, and Matt and Jon obviously.. but you know what I mean).

i think it'd be interesting, tori's rarely done any duets or collaborated with anyone ever - well except for YKTR, but you people disowned the poor thing - so it could bring an interesting, different flavor to the mix.

Haha I would never disown YKTR it's so underrated but some of it's good as for collaborations.... when I think of collaborations I generally think of rap artists and how they can't seem to do any song on thier own... it's always 50 cent fet. so and so and I don't want Tori to be like that.

I doubt it's a collaboration. I'm sure Tori's just stepping into other people's shoes again. I can't wait!! xo

Yeah and from the sounds of that first review, it's definately not collaborators... Hooray for that.
