Since we've been getting spammed, regardless of how many times I ban that guys IP address, he keeps spamming us. The only reason he can even spam us is because he's posting without being logged in. I understand that a lot of us like to quickly post without loggin in but in order to eliminate the spam we'll need to make Toriforum a place where only registered members can post.
What do you guys think: Should we make TF a members posting-only board in order to eliminate spammers?

I think that's a good idea, not to be able to post without logging in. Firstly it would indeed eliminate "outside" spamming which is a good thing. Secondly, at least I have sometimes problems with some boards (havent' had problems with Toriforum tho): if I open some topic in a new window, the board "forgets" I'm logged in and then I may post without logging in. Yes, might be my computer/browser problem but still. Not a big deal, I just find it annoying. Some others may have same problem?
And it's not a big effort to log in. So, I think it is a good idea.

I also vote yes. I do like to do drive-by-postings without logging on, but it won't inconvenience me bad if I do log on.  (Deleted two more spams. GEEZ!) |
