Hi, all- I called my mom last night for the hell of it, and she thought I called because I had seen the news. I hadn't at that point. They live in Palm Bay, Florida, and my mom was packing up valuables because there were wildfires around them. My dad was keeping an eye on the fires, and then the neighbor's palm trees (right across the street) caught fire so my mom said they had to go and she would keep me updated. I didn't hear back from her last night and I can't get a hold of her this morning. The CNN article says 50 homes were destroyed. Please send prayers, good vibes, whatever. Thinking of you and keeping your mom in my thoughts/prayers, Caz. I'm a bit worried about my family too, but so far the fires aren't close to them. I heard that the fires were deliberately set. This really pisses me off. |

I got a call from my mom. They're doing fine, and the house is fine. The fire stopped right at their backyard...so the only damage they have is a melted fence. I'm SO relieved.
Yeah, the arson aspect really pisses me off, too. I can't believe someone's stupidity ended up completely destroying 75 houses.

Me too glad your family is ok, it's quite frightening that someone would do that on purpose. There seem to be a lot of terrible things happening in the world at the moment like the earthquake in China and the cyclone in Burma.

oh that was bad news... but i am glad it is done already and everyone is safe...
