Hey, guys!
As most of you know, I have been working on getting over to Korea to teach English. It was a rather frustrating process, as it's hard to figure out which recruiting agencies and schools you can actually trust. I got a job offer a week ago and was initially really excited but my mom and I did some research and weren't too pleased with the results...and my gut was telling me not to sign that particular contract. So I had a phone interview on Thursday afternoon with a woman whose mom runs two schools in Seoul and was looking for a teacher. I had to wait awhile to figure out if I got the position because she was interviewing a couple more people after me. I got an email from her yesterday saying that I GOT THE JOB!!! I squealed a lot and jumped around my kitchen a lot. lol... Anyway, I will start teaching in Seoul on July 21st. AAAHHH! That's so soon! I'm so excited but, like I told Miranda via text message yesterday, I'm so damn scared! It'll be incredibly daunting, but I just need to do it or I'll regret it for the rest of my life.
*squeals some more*

Like I said via text, I am THRILLED about this news. I'm SO, SO proud of you, Carly. I can't believe how far you've come. You pretty much fucking rock, lady. I know it's really scary, but it's absolutely the chance of a lifetime. I know you will do great. I can't wait to hear what it's like to live in Korea. I love you and wish you all the best. ♥

I had a near disaster this afternoon. I spent all morning running around St. Paul getting my criminal background check notarized and Apostilled. I've been carrying around all of my Korea paperwork in my backpack (which I thought was waterproof) and ended up walking across campus this afternoon in the pouring rain. When I got home I took the stuff out of my backpack and some of my documents were ruined, but I can just print them out and refill them out. My background check was ok--except for the edges. Had it ruined the signatures and stamp I would have to get it redone and pay for it all over again. Ugh! Anyway, everything's fine but it could have really sucked.

Really? Well, I don't know why I would be surprised.  In the Middle of the Night is definitely my favorite song on Martha's new album. Strange, because I was only so-so about it at first. |
