2796. Messages from Carly. #88# Thank you for responding to my messages, by the way. My supposed best friend Heather has been ignoring my messages because, well, she's one of those delightful people who falls off the face of the earth when she's dating someone. I really hate that. Boo to that. I pride myself on not being one of those people. You were here for me in so many ways before I got a boyfriend (and still are) that I could never feel ok losing touch with you. #88# (Plus, when I try to talk to Brandon about Ryan Adams, he just rolls his eyes at me. lol )

I also meant to say:
2797. Phone calls with my baby brother. He's stationed in San Antonio right now and is leaving soon to train for the summer in Iraq. I miss him so much, but talking to him helps, especially when he thinks of something else to tell me everytime we say goodbye so we end up talking for longer.

One friend in particular of mine is only about in between boyfriends so you see her for a few weeks and then she's off again. 2798. Huge pay cheques that you didn't expect especially when you're moving!

2801. The newest visitor to my backyard feeder- this lovely American goldfinch. He usually hangs out in the treetops over my backdeck singing before coming down to feed. The song is so pretty.

^ omg gorgeous! I saw this random bird fluttering around on the footpath outside the allergist yesterday... no idea what it was but it was bizarre and pretty. Kinda like a sparrow but smaller and it had red and yellow around it's head.. hadn't seen anything like it before.
2802. I can get rid of my big ugly computer desk and big ugly old computer this weekend! and I'm putting a nice chair in the corner instead, which I got extreeeeemely cheap because it's slightly damaged at the back. oh yay lol

I found out that it was a mistake on Amazon's part...not the post office. They must have put a completely wrong label on the package. Not surprising--I've had problems with Amazon before. They're sending me a replacement, thankfully. When I was talking to the customer service rep, he didn't apologize once for the HUGE mistake they made, and he kept laughing when I told him that my mp3 player was delivered to someone who didn't fucking pay for it. Glad you're lovin' the CD. I see RK tomorrow night and, if they play The Moneymaker, I'll really try to keep my clothes on.

LOL! I hope you have a great time at the Rilo show, C! If I had enough booze in me, I would totally get naked if she played The Moneymaker. Not that I'm saying you should drink to get rid of your inhibitions or anything.

If I come across anything in a book/online that looks like it, I'll run it by you. I'm only JUST getting familiar with most of the U.S species. But give me time. ;D

Yeah, I wish I knew what it was. It was so little and cute. hehe.. you'd like some of our native birds, they're really dorky. There's a lot of Pukekos round where I live, they crack me up on a regular basis. I found out about this animal sanctuary about an hour north of Auckland, and as well as the usual sorts of animals (donkeys, goats, pigs, rescued battery hens, etc..) they also have a bird sanctuary. A lot of birds get taken there to recover before being released back into the wild. Turns out they also run a B&B so my sister and I are totaly going out there for a night for our birthdays in November. I thought of you when I was on the site because of the birdies Can't wait to go out there, it looks lovely. Just hope it'll be nice weather! (November's a bit dodgy)

A couple mornings ago, I dreamed that I was attacked by a bird. It was one of the most vivid dreams I have ever had. I was half awake/half dreaming and I woke up freaked out and seriously felt a bird flapping around the area between my neck and shoulder. I don't like birds.
2804. I have recently been going back and forth about going to Korea for a year (because it's fucking scary) but I just got an email from my grandma--she volunteers with a woman who has a friend who is looking for an English teacher to work in Seoul for a year starting this fall. Fate rules.

If you came to visit me, I think you'd have to stay at a hotel because not only do I have birds everywhere, I also have a little red squirrel who lives in my backyard. lol Aw...that's wonderful! I'm so happy this is coming together for you. I can't wait to get my first postcard from Korea.

Yep that totally sounds like fate's jumping up and down going "yoohoo!! Carly!" Sabrina, yeah will take heaps of photos! can't wait.. November is so far away though. But then again I can't afford any travel this year (except for that stupid flight to Wellington I need to use before the end of the year.. ugh) so it's nice to have something like that to look forward to. 2805. my new armchair rocks. it's soooooooo good to be rid of that big stupid computer desk. My room feels so...... roomy
