Ok I read this a little while ago and kept meaning to post it but forgot.. It's part of an interview I found while googling for Maynard James Keenan quotes.. "Q: You once wrote/said: "Ignorant heterosexuals are right to fear the gay community. They are the future. Our future. The next step in our evolution." What did you mean by that? MJK: I was being flippant. The homophobic non-empathetic male leaders of this world who believe man was granted dominion over the earth by God are doing everything in their power to butt-rape this planet. However, this planet is far smarter than we are. I believe she has presented a solution. If the current state of men cannot discover compassion for this planet on their own, the earth will bear males who are made up entirely of compassion, emotion, empathy, and impeccable taste in shoes." LOL! Cannibals!! Hehehe. If you've read Robert Heinlein's "Stranger In a Strange Land", you'll get the whole reference about grokking and eating other people.

To quote Tori herself, from the book signing:
"Oh, those worker bees..." *moving her hips and sighing* "I just love those worker bees...with their nectar..." *sigh again, coy smile*

I just got off the phone and I was talking to my friend Sam's 3.5 y/o daughter, Madison. Sam is also currently pregnant. Sam in the background: "Madison, tell Carly if you want me to have a boy or if you want me to have a girl." Madison: "A goldfish." Me: "Honey, I'm sorry but that's not one of your options. A boy or a girl?" Madison: "Hmmmm...A GOLDFISH!"

I might've told this to you some time ago, but I remembered it today again and chuckled a bit. Sorry for the repetition! It's more of a story than a quote, but oh well. Anyway!
My sister's friend was going to stay in an English family when she was younger. At that time she didn't know much English. She wanted to write the family a letter before she went there, to introduce herself and to express how it's nice that they're taking her in.
She wanted to start the letter with a casual Finnish greeting, something that would sound exotic to the English ear. So greetings like "Hei" were out of the question. Finally she came up with one, "Moro!", a typical greeting when you meet a friend.
To add a bit of personal flair, she added two letters to it which in some greetings normally indicate an even more laid-back attitude.
So her letter began:
"Morons!
I'm a 15 year old girl from Finland..."
BAHAHH! I wish I had seen the English family's faces when they opened that letter.

I often start e-mails to foreigners with "hei!" or "moi!" I have often toyed with the idea of writing moron! but have come to my senses in time...

*dig dig dig THERE IT IS! Yay for the quote thread!*
We watched Blade Runner yesterday. Full of quoting goodness. My mind got stuck on this one.
"Too bad she won't live -- but then again, who does?"

this is what my roommate said to me yesterday: "matze, you look like the yeti!" (background of the whole story: due to an allergy, my doctor told me not to shave for a week... yesterday was the 7th day )

Quote from a few weeks ago:
Arianna: "Mommy, does Tori have a new CD out?" Me: "Yes, why?" Arianna: "Because you said when she had a new CD, I could go see her. YAY! I get to see her!" ~~~~ My daughter is crazy, she really loves Tori, and this month Arianna's little mind is going crazy over Tori:
"Mommy, when I get bigger, and grown up like you, I'm taking your Tori CDs"

"I found the solution to live happy in society when you're short-sighted: smile all the time. You look stupid but at least you don't have enemies." from the awesome novel I finished. It's called the Romantic Egotist by Frédéric Beigbéder. It's full of aphorisms.

"Creating is like driving a car at night. You can't see beyond your headlights, but it's enough to make all the road."
