Oh yikes, I read that. And it's like, ok, I can see why you hate America (not that I agree of course), and I guess it's not too tough of a stretch to say that Britain is America's accomplice or whatever... but Australia?! What the hell did they ever do to you? Just because they sent some soldiers to Iraq?! (did you guys? I'm guessing because that's the only possible beef I could think of that the terrorists would have with you).

although when I use it I say 'hmph', hmpf is just another random noise that can be added to the list of mhmm, meh, pshh, bleh, guh, ehh, and other such "words". And can you put them all in the same sentence?

You know, the annoying little yappy thing that the owner ignores but that pisses everyone else off enormously. Seriously, it's a great analogy!

Sorta like the little nerdy kid who's the sidekick to the schoolyard bully edit - Oh wait! thats what john howard is in relation to george w bush.

Jay, you can check out the 'Operation Falconer' website here: www.defence.gov.au/opfalconer/default.htmIt'll tell you all sorts of 'fun facts' about what the hell our troops are doing there and what equipment they're using, etc. I didn't even know the 'operation' (it's amazing just how many euphemisms run rampant during war) had a name until yesterday.

LMAO Well, when the magnets came out I was still living with Mum and Dad. Our whole pack - book and magnet and whatever else - was thrown out unopened. How very unpatriotic of us. And strangely enough, there wasn't one waiting for me when I bought the new place.

Thanks for the concern. Our house flooded on the weekend. A contractor came in today to take out the carpets, so the smell is receding. Shaun has caught a nasty flu from the spores though...Oh yeah, and we LIVE in a basement suite. N~ xo

Luckita, you mean when someone just says "hmpf" as a sigh or something? Um, it's sort of just a pouting sound or sometimes I use it in a way that tells people I'm being stubborn like this . Is that what you were wanting to know? Hmmm... Yes, maybe. I thought it was more like a lol, rofl, gmta, imho thing... something meaning 'hello my pretty friend' or something, lol, though I knew it had to do with ---> . Btw, [glow=yellow,2,300]Hi Maryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy [/glow] thankyou both ps: As you can see I suck at quoting twice in the same post... Still havent learned how to do it and I've spent half my life in this place!!! " hello my pretty friend"!!!!!!!!!! I like that much better for 'hmpf'!! And hello back! My big news for the day: I'm off to see TOOOOORRRRIIIIIII tonight, babies!Throw some purple-monkey hugs my way, m-kay?
