I've been doing my best to stick to the no-download oath as well, and I just flipped on the radio to try and catch "Vicarious", so guess what's playing right now... . . . nickelback. HAHAHA!!! Oh, sucky! Oh yeah - I heard it on the radio the other night! They were actually saying all day "Bryce is gonna play the new Tool song at 8pm tonight!". They're also doing a competition to see Tool live in Las Vegas. How much fun would that be! (though I think I'd prefer to have won the trip to see Red Hot Chili Peppers in Germany... Vegas doesn't interest me that much. oh what am I talking about? it's not like me or my sister are gonna win! ah well, rambly shite keeps me amused). Going to pre-order the cd this weekend. I hope they have cool freebies again like they did last time!

YAY! ;D (and you make sure you get yourself to a show too, missy! and force Jason to go too, if possible... even though it's probably too "arty" for Mr. "I prefer shows that don't have a lot of fancy lighting.." : LMAO. Aims nobody makes me laugh like you do - I stumble upon some line you say to someone else and I'm laughing so damn hard! Haha at this - I can practically see your eyes rolling for real. xo Yes, when I read his email review of the NIN live experience, I was very indeed.

Just read this....
"Ticketmaster has confirmed Tool to play the Orpheum Theater in Boston on May 21 (WAAF apparently announced it as May 22 this morning). Tickets go on sale on April 22 at 10am EDT and will set you back $55 before fees and such. That same Ticketmaster page now lists shows for Tempe, AZ (May 6, $66.66); Minneapolis (May 12);[/size] Chicago (May 13); and Upper Darby, PA (May 17)."
*hint hint @ Carly and Jason*..

Agrh but I will be jobless soon and there's already one concert that I absolutely have to attend in July... I'll think about it, I'm just not sure I can spare the money right now. But I will think about it. Don't hate me

Going to pre-order the cd this weekend. I hope they have cool freebies again like they did last time! I pre-ordered as soon as it appeared on Amazon, but I'm a bit annoyed b/c the delivery date appears to be about a week after it is released. wtf? I'm thinking about cancelling that and picking it up around here. Just read this.... "Ticketmaster has confirmed Tool to play the Orpheum Theater in Boston on May 21 (WAAF apparently announced it as May 22 this morning). WAAF is the station that I used to listen to (when I was in that area), and I've been listening to their webcast when I can, waiting for Vicarious. There's been all kinds of confusion over that particular tour date. When it was first listed at Tool's site, the venue was listed as The Orpheum... then it was changed (the same day) to The Wang Center... now it's back to The Orpheum (which makes the most sense to me and was also listed as such at Ticketmaster). Btw, I think that I may have convinced my boyfriend to go. We may actually hit the Boston date instead of one of the NY ones b/c I'll be in that area for that weekend anyway.

But I will think about it. Don't hate me These seem to be dates that they are squeezing in before they head to Europe. I'm pretty sure that they will be back in the states around September-ish. So I think you'll have another chance if you can't make it this time around. The advantage to these shows, however, is that they are all smaller venues. They'll probably play the bigger ones when they return to the US.

Yeah, well I have two days to think about it... lol. I thought May 12 was the on-sale date, crap. Ugh, I probably won't go... as of May 5 I'll most likely be unemployed again for at least a week or two, unless I find something more steady before then. It sounds like your idea of waiting for fall dates is best. Did anyone else know that the album has been fully leaked? Btw, funny that we both have an Orpheum, though... we'd be at the same concert in spirit, right?

You know I understand that! Yeah, I know about the album leak, but I'm trying to ignore it (as with The Beekeeper). Actually, I keep looking at your Orpheum date by accident because it is listed first. I better not do that when ordering tix!

I just posted in the Grateful thread about it. I just read the advertisment in the paper about ten minutes ago and I was so excited I actually dropped the paper on the ground. lol... I'm sooooo going and nothing is going to stop me!!!

Ok, so maybe the fact that a ticket is $63.00 MIGHT stop me. Grrr. Yeah that's what I'm thinking. On the one hand, my job just got extended to June 1, on the other hand, I really, really, REALLY need to save money right now, so... Yeah, I'm not going. They'll be back in the fall anyway.

Yeah, I know about the album leak, but I'm trying to ignore it (as with The Beekeeper). Hahaha someone on my lj friends list made an entry today about how he hopes the leak was a decoy because the album sucks, etc blah. I commented with "Aww boo hoo ;P" and was laughing my arse off on the inside. He's so one of those snooty eliteist sorts of fans that I can't stand. why he's on my list, I don't remember..

I can't stand fans (of any artist/band) like that. Especially the ones who claim to be these huge fans (and who somehow hold themselves as "better" fans than others) but seem to be negatively critical about everything. There are a lot of Tori fans like that who I met at the meet & greets. They were hitting all of her shows, spending tons of time and money, and being these elitist snobs -- yet they didn't seem to enjoy ANYTHING about her or her music. This totally baffled me. I overheard someone ask one of them what song(s) of hers they actually did like. I don't think that they got a response. All I could think was, "Wow, you must be a huge masochist to dump all of your time and energy on somthing that you hate so much."

YES! There are Tori fans like that. I've seen them floating around the internet lol.
Unfortunately Tool is one of those bands that get a lot of the wanker fans too. So does NIN. I can't stand even reading message boards for either of those bands.

lol dont hate the player, hate the game, or maybe its the other way round. I dont know. All I know is that "finding emo" is an easier game to play than it used to be. where do all the emo's come from? how can they be stopped? how do you kill them? if you cut one in two does it then become 2 smaller emo's? maybe an emo control method like sterilization can be put in place so they wont breed to form more emo's.
emo's who like nin make me angry. very.

Yeah, I've met them online and in person. They just seem like generally miserable people. I don't bother commenting on it (other than venting now) or trying to agree with them b/c I've seen other people do that and it goes nowhere. where do all the emo's come from? how can they be stopped? how do you kill them? if you cut one in two does it then become 2 smaller emo's? maybe an emo control method like sterilization can be put in place so they wont breed to form more emo's. LMAO! Emo regeneration? All I know is there is a HUGE difference between disliking some songs or having some constructive criticism of the music vs continually bashing everything something/someone that you supposedly love so much that you claim to be a more dedicated fan than anyone else. Are they trying to be martyrs in some strange way? Or do they just get off on annoying all of the other fans? I dunno. ANYWAY... I'm just psyched that May 2nd is less than a week away!! #10#

I feel kinda guilty posting in here because I'm not a full-fledged Tool fan quite yet. I still have yet to own all the albums, though I want to. It's just a question of $. But I wanted to say: I heard "Vicarious" on the radio today and it made my whole day. Maybe even my whole month. I'll probably get the new album before I get the older ones, just because: now I want it!
