lol dont hate the player, hate the game, or maybe its the other way round. I dont know. All I know is that "finding emo" is an easier game to play than it used to be. where do all the emo's come from? how can they be stopped? how do you kill them? if you cut one in two does it then become 2 smaller emo's? maybe an emo control method like sterilization can be put in place so they wont breed to form more emo's. emo's who like nin make me angry. very. #19#

I feel kinda guilty posting in here because I'm not a full-fledged Tool fan quite yet. I still have yet to own all the albums, though I want to. It's just a question of $. But I wanted to say: I heard "Vicarious" on the radio today and it made my whole day. Maybe even my whole month. I'll probably get the new album before I get the older ones, just because: now I want it! Don't feel guilty! You don't have to be as much of an obsessive freak as some of us on this thread to post on it Yeah get the new album because if you get to catch them on their big proper tour they'll play more from that than the older stuff lol. YAY only 4 more sleeps.

YAY only 4 more sleeps. Obsessive freaks?!! *gasp* Who?! Lol. Sabsy, you are welcome to post in here whenever you like! I am really hoping that my pre-order arrives on time or I think I'm going to be flipping out on Tues! Sadly, I didn't buy tix for one of those smaller-venue pre-Europe dates. Mainly because it my dad's birthday that weekend and I'm going to visit him. I possibly could have done it but it's complicated and would have required taking a day off of work for transportation reasons. I'm going to be kicking myself, but I guess I have to wait till fall.

I never got around to pre-ordering in the end. I went into a music store a couple of days ago and there was only one person working at the counter, and she was yakking to her bloody friends... and I was not in the mood to wait around.
Oh well. I've been hearing ads on the radio for both the Tool and Pearl Jam albums coming out on Monday, and they're both pretty cheap at this particular place that's advertising... so I'm gonna go buy them there! Screw that other stupid store and it's shitty staff!!
(poor Pearl Jam though - that album won't be getting listened to at all for at least a few days!! lol)
Yeah you'll have less stress trying to actually buy tickets when they do their proper tour later in the year too. I now wonder if they'll even be down here this year. Oh well, as long as they get here eventually.

I feel bad b/c I completely forgot about Pearl Jam! (not about their existence, just in reference to their new CD). Lol.
I'm really regretting that I went the pre-order route b/c I also pre-ordered a book (both from Amazon) that is being released on the same date and I think that might be what is holding it up. Oh well.
They have to go there! I'll be crossing my fingers for you!!
I heard that they were incredible at Coachella.

I HAVE IT! Yaaay ;D
I've decided that listening to it straight away took priority over everything - including having a decent dinner... so I ordered pizza! hehe.
Oh and the artwork is bloody cool. As usual they've totally outdone themselves. There are 3D glasses built into the cd package, and then the booklet is stuck to the case, and you lift the pages and look through the glasses... it rocks. (and now I understand all those weird double pictures on Adam Jones myspace page!)
Lauren, I know someone else in the US who preordered it from amazon and the delivery estimate was Wednesday... so maybe it's just something most people are getting stuck with.
I never actually preordered after all, which was STUPID because when it was released yesterday there was a stuff up with the record company and stores either only had enough to fill their preorder allocations, or didn't have any copies at all! I was gutted. But luckily they got more in stock today so phew... it wasn't too bad after all.
I hope yours arrives as speedily as possible!

I'm QUITE jealous, but I'm really glad that you have yours!! My preorder still hasn't quite shipped. Well, according to Amazon it has shipped, which makes it just past the point when I could cancel the order, but the tracking says only that "The carrier has be notified of the shipment" or something like that which means that it still hasn't left the warehouse. The estimated ship date is now the 11th (next Thurs). Yes, it's only 9 days... but I'm wondering -- what was the point of preordering??! Oh well. Just as long as it's not like the Tori boots... those took months to finally arrive!! Comparitavely, nine days is just fine. Plus, I have had Amazon orders that have arrived well before their arrival date... I hope that this is another one of those times! About the artwork (you probably already read this): Check out www.cosm.org for information about purchasing limited edition fine art prints of ALEX GREY's "NET OF BEING" which, as I'm sure many of you are aware, was adapted for the cover artwork of Tool's new record. Alex also has signed (in silver ink) a limited number of copies of 10,000 Days. The site says that the place does gallery tours (this is like a 15min subway for me), so I've got to grab a friend and go take a peek sometime.

Lauren: aww man, that is ridiculous! It has to get to you sooner than that. I find more often than not when I order from amazon the stuff arrives heaps sooner than the estimated delivery date. So I'll have my fingers crossed for you. Yeah I saw that thing about Alex Grey... it's so tempting! But ordering stuff online from the US is really expensive right now (*kicks our cruddy dollar*) so I'm trying to refrain from it. I'm bloody jealous that you're so close to his gallery though!!! Wow, that's just... yeah. You have to go check it out simply because you can! Carly: YAY! You won't be sorry

Oh, I know I won't be. What I AM sorry about is that I was stuck at work until midnight last night, so I didn't get a chance to go buy it. I'll get it this afternoon, though!

Yeah, I have a friend visiting on Sat, so maybe I'll get her to go to the gallery w/me.
I got some good news on my cd. An update on my amazon package tracking says that it left Jersey City, NJ (just on the other side of the Hudson) yesterday, so hopefully it will be here this week after all! *crossing fingers that it might be today*

Did I mention that I love living less than 3 blocks from the office? I went back to the apt for lunch and guess what was waiting by my mailbox?!
Yay!! #10#
So, of course, it's already in my iPod and making my day a bit more fun #20# (I don't think that blasting in the office is an option. Hehe.)
Wow, you were right about the artwork/packaging!! Readjusting my eyes to my monitor here at work (to lines of code and such) was a bit of a challenge after that!
Thank you Amazon, I'm so sorry for doubting you! Lol.

I tried to talk Josh into going with me to the listening party at Alex Grey's gallery, but that's just not going to happen. That's fine though, I imagine that it will be uncomfortably crowded and I kinda have other plans for tomorrow.

Ya'll! We need to change the name of this thread now! There should be no "arggh!!" anyway associated with this latest Tool, don'tcha agree?
6 full spins and I'm in love with this album and want to melt the whole thing down and drink it with a straw. And then play it again and again.
Big, big straw. Like the ones from In-N-Out, not skimpy McDonalds' ones. You know.
