I think the fact that we've already formed a "Cars And Guitars Is Cooler Than Us All" club says it all...
And really, the only thing I could add is that this song is one of the best for me. Easily. Paulo was so right when he named it A Sorta Fairytale Part II[/b]... I definitely agree, it has that roady feel to it.

Welllllll, I'm not in that club. I love the "keep on driving" part, LOVE it. But the rest of the song just doesn't do it for me. While we're comparing this to ASF, let me say I find this song SO very campy and nowhere near the beatiful more meaningful song that ASF was/is. I know Tori was exploring the idea of becoming a car and a guitar to 'fit' another person so that she could understand the person (she explains this in the dvd), and good on her for playing around with the idea in a song. She can do that, she's an artist. I'm just not impressed with the result. So there. Just my opinion.

When Spoiled Douche (official name for the guy I WAS dating... ha) was listening to it, the first thing he said was "I don't like her voice in this song... what is she doing? She sounds like she's trying way too hard..." Definitely campy, and I know what you mean when you compare it to ASF sonically... I hate to admit it, but I agree. And honestly, the first time I heard this song, I DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. I can only hope it grows on you like it did me... but then again, we all enjoy Tori in our own lovely ways

I love the "keep on driving" part, LOVE it. I also love that part, but the rest of it is eh. I think Tori is capable of much more than comparing herself to a car. It just doesn't do it for me.

LOL, I love that we're sitting here dissing our favorite female artist. Sorry, Tori, but this song is just really silly. That said, I do like some little moments in it, like I mentioned before.

I dunno. I hope you guys learn to love it... because it's really a song worth loving. It's my favorite, still, but Goodbye Pisces[/b] is gaining. Wow I guess we have really different Tori tastes...

Jason, I'm glad you like it.
Yes, our tastes are different. Cars and Guitars is my least favorite on this album.

I like this song. Low-singing Tori is gorgeous. However, when I now saw the interview on the DVD, I have to chime in the silliness comments. Although I did giggle to her "stick shift" comment: I thought if she wanted the car feminized, she'd rather want a car with curves and bumps rather than a phallos for the husband to grab onto!! But yeh, I still like the song.

I love this song, I cant even believe some of you dont... How can you not like it? Different people, different opinions ;D Glad you like it though! I think it's cool that each of Tori's song has their supporters, even in a small crowd like ours. It just shows how Tori can reach different people with her music. Gotta love that woman.
