I had no idea what I felt like reading while I wait around for the new Harry Potter. So I'm reading Trainspotting again. Not taking me as long to read the words with ease this time, yay! hehe..

I have Trainspotting in my shelf and I do intend to read it some day... the dialect isn't too encouraging though... although the first lines at least seem quite readable... unlike Joseph's lines in Wuthering Heights, most of the time I didn't even bother to understand what he was saying.

The first time I read that, it was like a different language but it really does get easier the second time.

hehe.. first time I read it, the dialect totally sucked me in.. by the end I was catching myself thinking stuff in a Scottish accent.

Edward T. Hall: Silent Language... a classic of intercultural communication, just finished it, read to find out if it had any great insights to use for my thesis.

I finished that book I mentioned above, then read Sujata Massey's Typhoon Lover, 8th book of Rei Shimura books. And by that, I have read them all expect book 4 which I haven't found anywhere and book 9 which hasn't been translated to Finnish yet. Currently reading Elaine Cunningham's Elfsong, so back to fantasy. ^^ I like it a lot, I like Cunningham's style.

Miranda and Aimee ~ the first time I read Trainspotting I had to actually read the first few pages out loud to understand what was going on... Weird, but fun.
Now reading Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert A. Heinlein. Funny stuff.

I really disliked White Oleander but can't remember why.
I just read I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb. Very good. Then I read Love Invents Us by Amy Bloom. Not very good. Now I'm re-reading She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb.
Our cable and internet has been cut off because my roommate sucks at life. So I've just been reading a lot.

Hehe I remember you telling me that last time I'm finding again that I'm starting to pick up little sayings, though I mostly just use them in my head and in my own accent. That always happens though - when I was re-reading all the Harry Potter books recently, I'd find myself glancing across the room and thinking "accio remote".. and then going "oh man what a dick.." lol

ahhh I want you guys to hurry up, so I have someone to talk about it with. I read a bit yesterday, about 120 pages and then spent all of today finishing it. Yeah, all day... finished it an hour about just after 8pm. I'm not a mega fast reader but I'm glad I managed it - didn't want to have to go to work tomorrow having not finished it.

Yeah, the only people who will post in there are the ones who have either just finished it or are currently reading it anyway, so I think it'll be safe to post spoilers to our little hearts' content

I'm about half-way finished with my HARRY. i literally read over 300 pages yesterday. i'm going to do a bit more each night this week. i actually didn't want to read it too quickly because i'm sad it's going to be over but at the same time, i'm extremely curious!
so when i'm done, i'll jump in there with you and talk about it. should probably start a thread that has "spoiler" in the title though since i'm sure it will be hard to not keep things secret!!

Maybe one of the mods could edit the thread title to include a spoiler warning? I put one in the thread before Miranda and I started talking about it in there, but maybe the title should have one too just incase.

Starting the Sandman series again from the beginning, because I finally got the last 3 books a couple of months ago, but it's been so long since I read the first ones and I can't remember what happened.. duh.
Trying to decide on a book I can leave at work to read during my lunchbreak though, because I don't wanna be carting the Sandman books around incase they get all beat up and dirty.
