I don't know. Maybe we're all really fuckin' angry about where we came from. I know I am! true. i mean, i love berlin, but the city where i was born - königs wusterhausen (just for the sake of completeness, you're all allowed to forget that name right away) - has got to be the most terrible place on earth. hate it with a passion. random fact about it: the pizza you get there tastes of soap. get the picture... yuck. still - i'm all for moving this to the general section. i wanna know where everyone else comes from...

I love Calgary, but I find the crime rate is going so high that I feel stressed out about being downtown. I'm constantly looking over my shoulder to see if anyone is too close to me. It's very strange. Last month alone we had over 25 000 newcomers to Calgary. It's a booming city, everyone here is looking to hire. If you're looking for a job come to Calgary-we have tonnes! xo

Auckland, New Zealand
Was born in Wellington but don't really think it counts as where I'm from as I only spent the first 1.5 years of my life there anyway. Although, I think Wellington is a cooler place than Auckland so that's a bit of a shame we moved. Oh well.

Even though right now I'm hating the people here with a passion. So fucking passive aggressive, and it seeps right into your soul if you're not careful. And that place is Minneapolis, Minnesota, otherwise known as Not Quite Chicago.

I am from Newark, New Jersey
15 minutes from Manhattan. Less than an hour to Philly.
My city has an old history based on riots during 1967. Unforunatly it still has a lot of stigma. Though most of the areas have been rebuilt, there are some areas that live in the poverty. I am talking Utter proverty, burned down houses left standing type of poverty. One of my friends took pics and brought them to her photgraphy classes at Pratt University, one student described it as the apolcolypse (sp?).
But even still has it's beauty, it has the one of the largest populations of Cherry Blossom trees in the United States. It has buildings that were in competition with the new york city skyline. It has some pretty awesome food (a large Brazilian/Portuguese population is here) In the summer it is hot, and we have a old ice cream parlor from the 1950's. So even though, people probably think I wear a body armor when I leave my house (which I dont lol) It's an interesting place to live. Though too expensive...lol Wow maybe I should do a I love nj commercial...
::ponders:: lol

^^ I don't know why I forgot that you were in Newark! Lol, you are so close by, we should meet up sometime. ^^
Right now I live in NYC. New York, New York, USA
I have moved a few times over the last few years. When I first joined the forum I was living @ school in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Then I moved briefly back to southeastern Massachusetts, where I grew up. After that I moved to western MA, which is more like Vermont. I lived in two different towns there, then I moved here to NYC.
As far as my feelings on it... I hated nyc when I first got here but now I almost can't imagine leaving it. I love it.
However, I do miss MA a bunch. Partially it's because the cost of living here in Manhattan is INSANE, but mostly because I don't have many friends here yet. I'm in a city of over 8 million people and yet I'm lonely!! How did I manage that?

I'm in a city of over 8 million people and yet I'm lonely!! How did I manage that? I don't know how you did it, but I know you're not the only one. I usually feel like one in three million here in the Twin Cities. I don't think I have a single person I could call "friend" in a several-hundred-mile-radius. I guess sometime life's just like that, but it can't all be rough spots

I don't watch Television at all, I'm sure there is one though. You should move here anyways. Edmonton is in the top 4 NHL teams, they are only 3 hours away, in my province. There is a huge rivalry between the two cities normally, but we have come together over Edmonton kicking the Anaheim Ducks' asses. Lol! xo
