[ I understand why Joey put The Shining in the freezer though I've never been able to get through that, or IT. you know, i never did watch (or read) The Shining. i was so put off by Cape Fear that i didn't bother. IT is horrible, though. both film and book. such a waste of my time. meanwhile, couple nights ago i watched that German film that won the foreign language Oscar this year, The Lives of Others. it's definitely one of my favorite German films ever. ps. i bought the Vanity Fair dvd months ago and have never watched it. should i bother? The Shining is great. Jack Nicholson is awesome.

that's a film i'd recommend everyne to watch! it certainly is breath-taking, and sooo close to reality. i grew up in east germany and i know for a fact that my parents were screened, as well. it was unbelievable.
and i'm very sad that the main actor died already and hardly lived to see the huge success his film was world-wide. i actually saw it in portugal - and the theatre was packed. awesome.

Apocolypto didnt think it would be any good but was actually ok despite the fact it was written, directed and produced by mel gibson. Its all about tribes and stuff and i kept getting really confused that mel gibson was actually in it but hes not so yeah its ok.

I watched this weird Wind In The Willows movie with real people instead of animals, although they were supposed to be animals but ..... yeah. Didn't watch it all, ended up channel surfing a bit.

Hey, Paulo! The last movie I saw was Elizabeth I. It was funny because I was supposed to get the one with Cate Blanchett, so that I could refresh before I saw the sequel. I ended up getting the Elizabeth series on HBO with Helen Mirren. I was pleasantly surprised because I had wanted to see that series. I heard it's better than The Golden Age, but didn't figure my video stores carried it. It rocked! I LOVED it. Helen Mirren is so great. I think I may worship her, in fact. lol She may be my favorite actress, but I'm not sure. I was really glad I got the series by mistake because I enjoyed every minute. Anyway, I have the one with Cate now to watch, so yay! Thought you might appreciate that situation, seeing as we have mutual obsessions with the the above actresses.

The first two Blade movies. I liked the first one better though because Stephen Dorff is hotness.

i saw Golden Compass couple days ago too... i liked it, but there's too little Daniel Craig and too little Eva Green - who featured prominently in trailers, i hate when people do that - and Nicole Kidman just doesn't play a villain too well. truth be told, her acting has been annoying me some since she decided to stop talking and just whisper all her lines.
still, i liked the movie.
