Ok that last "obsessed" thread hasn't been posted on since Nov. 12th... So I am starting a new one. I know that there are songs you can't get out of your heads, people Right now, I have two
: Frou Frou - Let Go[/b]
and
: Eric Clapton - Layla[/b] (the original version)
And I do see the randomness of pairing those two...

right now i'm back to an old obsession of mine, Noa's "Lama". it's a song she made after the murder of israeli prime minister back in 1996. part of the lyrics go:
now that time is running out on him God is out to lunch Time is running out on his decisions Every day that passes proves that God has lost his glasses Or could it be the tears have blurred his vision?
it's a song obviously about Pope JP2 and the hypocrisy of the catholic church. it's very blunt, honest and angry. three things i also am most of the time. it literally does rock my socks off.

Oh, nice! I like Tom McRae! ;D Saw him live (with his 2 band members who were both incredible on keyboards and cello respectively) last October when he opened for Rachael Yamagata! A lovely night of music.

Do old obsessions that never really went away but just have a snooze every now and then count?? Coz lately I've been thrown into a particularly strong relapse of Tool worship... "I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human." Oh, and as of the last two days: Hoochie Woman.. lol. But I guess that also goes without saying.

A lovely night of music. Great! So cool that you saw him live! i was thinking about making a thread about him, to ask if someone of you knows him I just know a few songs of him (cause a friend recommended me some) and right now i can't stop listening 'you only disappear" I don't know Rachael Yamagata, i guess i will have to do something about it

Dude, if we didn't get re-obsessed with our old music occasionally, what would be the point of buying CDs?! Old obsessions certainly count ;D

By "rock your socks off" I'm thinking songs that make you dance like crazy and get into a zone... "Raspberry Swirl" by Tori Amos "Lady Marmalade" by Mya, P!nk, Lil' Kim, Christina Aguilera, and Missy Elliott "Dirrty" by Christina Aguilera & Redman "Throb" by Janet Jackson There are so many but those are my top 4.

I might've done this one in the previous thread already but damn... I'M OBSESSED! THERE'S NO STOPPING ME!
"They'll Need a Crane" by They Might Be Giants. Probably the most melancholy relationship song ever. With a really peppy melody. I like that. (Also, the beginning always reminds me of Tori's Cooling -- this song also personifies feelings). An example of lyrics:
Love sees love’s happiness But happiness can’t see that love is sad That love is sad Sadness is hanging there To show love somewhere something needs a change They need a change
They’ll need a crane, they’ll need a crane To take the house he built for her apart To make it break it’s gonna take a metal ball hung from a chain They’ll need a crane, they’ll need a crane To pick the broken ruins up again To mend her heart, to help him start to see a world apart from pain

A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras[/b] Which also happens to be the song that best describes my mood lately. I mean... yeah. I just get tired of feeling invisible to certain people. Usually boys. I'm sure this song is about something a thousand times deeper, but still. Grr-ness.
